The most accurate measure of CPU fan efficiency is the cubic feet per minute (CFM). The CFM is the volume of air the CPU fan can circulate inside the CPU in a minute. A higher CFM implies that the cooling capabilities of the fan are superior. Hence, for heavy-duty functions like software development or gaming, higher CPM fans must be chosen.
