Plug-in type electrical testers

Testers are usually used during the construction or repairing of electrical circuits. They are used during construction because any flaws discovered during the construction phase can be quickly backtracked and rectified instantly. However, even after closing the circuits and completing the structure, it is essential to monitor the plugs to identify any power leakage.  Plug-in testers are a category of post-construction circuits that detect any power leaks and surges and identify the source. These testers are inexpensive, easy to use, and used on any grounded three-pin power outlet, although these are ineffective against two-pin outlets.

Single pole switch testers

Single pole switches are simple general-purpose switches that have only one source. These switches are typically used to regulate lighting or receptacles that run on only one power source. Single pole switches are highly intuitive switches that have clear on and off markings on the toggle, which becomes easier to test and deploy. The most common tester used to test these single pole switches are the continuity testers. Continuity testers run on batteries and are mainly used to verify single pole switch continuities and completeness.  These testers are used only when the primary circuit is disconnected from the central wiring.

Contact vs. Non-contact testers

Testers are broadly categorized into contact testers and non-contact testers. Contact testers require physical contact with the circuits' live wirings to measure current flows and control limits. They can only test the voltage through physical touch. On the other hand, the non-contact testers do not require physical contact with any live wiring to measure and obtain results. These testers measure the voltage either through contact with the power outlet or the wire's outer surface.  Non-contact testers use modern technology that eliminates physical contact with the live wiring, making them safer than the contact testers.
