What began as a hobby became a full-time job for the team behind Galerissimo-Wohndeko, which works from a workshop in Bietigheim-Bissingen in the Neckar valley. Its collections include practical boxes, figures, signs, pictures and small furniture. Much of the wood is sawn or turned, then painted and decorated with paper techniques before receiving a nostalgic finish. The business also takes on commissions, such as a personalised box, a sayings sign or a piece of furniture that needs a new coat of paint.

Older items are restored using fassmalerei, a traditional German faux-finish painting method, while some treasured originals are kept in their original condition. The paint colours are mixed in-house. The designs draw on country-house style, shabby chic, nostalgia and romanticism, adding small dots, bows and lace. Used-look surfaces and minor wear are deliberate, and many pieces are made from reworked old materials, so each one is a unique piece with its own history.

Since November 2023 the business has also run a shop called Romantik Stübchen in Ludwigsburg, at Holzmarkt 1, where people can browse in person. It appears at markets as well. The online shop also stocks pieces from other labels, including Maileg, GreenGate and Clayre & Eef. Its range covers tableware, wall décor and seasonal toys, with a section for vintage furniture.
