re:Mix is a kitchen blender made for your own glass jars, and it is the first product from Open Funk. Jars come in several sizes, including a 2000ml jar for soups and large batches. A limited edition Nature model and refurbished units are also available.

Ken and Paul met at an open source circular economy event in 2018 and became close friends. Ken works in industrial design, engineering and manufacturing and has seen production in China, while Paul works in UX design and economics and has witnessed e-waste piling up in Ivory Coast. Paul's blender broke within months of purchase, and a repair shop wanted payment just to look at it. In January 2021 they asked people in a Facebook group for broken mixers, took them apart and studied why they failed.

The company wants home electronics to be made and repaired locally, with its designs developed through open-source collaboration. It uses materials with care, sources and makes its devices locally, and aims for a circular platform where electronics are never wasted. The re:Mix won the German Design Award 2025 for Excellent Product Design (Kitchen) and was shortlisted for the Dezeen Sustainability Awards 2022.

Open Funk also publishes recipes for drinks, nut butters and spreads made with re:Mix.
