SITWELL STEIFENSAND makes its chairs in Germany at a family business in Wendelstein near Nuremberg, which the company says has more than 20 years in the trade. An in-house upholstery shop covers chairs in customers' own fabrics or builds special orders. The firm traces its history to a disc-spring office chair invented by Friedrich M. Steifensand, whose son Gernot M. Steifensand now runs the company. It also states that it developed the LADY SITWELL, the first office chair designed for women, and the MISTER SITWELL, a relief seat for men that was the first of its kind in series production.

The catalogue includes mesh chairs such as the Liberty L and the Flash Net, which is rated to 110 kg, and leather-accented executive models like the Evo Sport. The Dream uses bonded leather with a rocking mechanism and three-zone upholstery, while the Ortholetic Balance has a sacrum-free backrest. A children's model, the Fitness Girl & Boy, uses a 3D fitness mechanism. Desks, conference and visitor chairs, and spare parts such as casters, glides, gas springs and seat cushions complete the range. Shipping covers Germany, Switzerland and wider Europe.
