SITWELL STEIFENSAND has built office chairs as separate designs for women and men since its early history. The LADY SITWELL was presented as the first office chair for women, and the MISTER SITWELL followed quickly as the first relief seat for men to enter series production. Both grew out of the company's research into seating for different bodies.

The company is a family business in Wendelstein near Nuremberg, run across generations. Friedrich M. Steifensand, father of current owner Gernot M. Steifensand, invented the first disc-spine swivel chair. Its technical seating solutions combine three-dimensional seating with synchronous movement, and an in-house upholstery workshop makes chairs in customers' own fabrics or special made-to-measure versions.

The catalogue covers desk chairs, executive chairs, mesh chairs, orthopedic chairs, XXL models, gaming chairs and children's desk chairs, plus desks, meeting and visitor chairs, relax armchairs and cantilever chairs. Spare parts such as casters, glides, base crosses, gas springs and seat cushions are sold separately, along with leather care products.

The factory sales showroom in Wendelstein lets buyers sit on the chairs before purchase. A 14-day home trial sitting is offered, and all chairs are manufactured in Germany, from component selection through final assembly.
