Unlike a general backpack retailer, this German shop is built around the Schulranzen, the satchel German primary school pupils carry, and sells it in complete sets. Ergobag Cubo five-piece sets and Step by Step CLOUD sets are offered, with sizing by build, normal or small. Filters separate models for girls, boys, grow-with-me bags and bags from the fifth grade onward. Kindergarten backpacks, lunch boxes and drinking bottles are displayed next to the school range, which includes brands such as Affenzahn, Deuter, Eastpak, Fjällräven and Jack Wolfskin. Parents unsure which size fits can use a school bag advisor that weighs size, weight and back system before suggesting a model.

The business has more than 30 years of experience with school bags and runs four physical stores where children can try models on in person. The Ergobag Cubo set carries a 4.9 rating from 395 reviews. Guarantees include a Best Price Guarantee, a 365-day exchange right and a delivery guarantee. A magazine section publishes Schulranzen and Schulrucksack tests, along with guides to the start of school and articles on children of school age.
